MDC Geospatial Consulting

Remote Sensing & Earth Observation
We specialise in advanced remote sensing solutions, leveraging satellite data from multiple constellations, including Sentinel, Landsat, and commercial providers, to monitor and analyse environmental changes.
Our expertise extends beyond traditional RGB imagery, incorporating data from near-infrared (NIR) and shortwave infrared (SWIR) to assess vegetation health, detect soil moisture, and differentiate land cover types. Thermal infrared (TIR) is used to monitor surface temperatures for urban heat mapping, wildfire detection, and geothermal activity. Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) enables all-weather monitoring by penetrating cloud cover and vegetation, making it ideal for tracking surface deformation, flood events, and landscape changes.

By integrating these datasets with machine learning, we enhance classification accuracy, automate feature extraction, and generate precise land-use and environmental insights.

We utilise industry-leading geospatial software, including ArcGIS and QGIS for spatial analysis and mapping, Orfeo ToolBox (OTB) and ESA’s SNAP for advanced image processing, and Python-based workflows to automate data processing and streamline Earth observation tasks.

Through efficient time-series analysis and change detection, we track landscape transformations with precision. Our capabilities support decision-making across sectors such as agriculture, biodiversity management, climate monitoring, and post-event analysis.
This includes applications such as crop health assessment, habitat mapping, deforestation tracking, urban expansion analysis, and disaster impact assessment.

By combining advanced technology with practical applications, we ensure reliable, data-driven insights for environmental management and planning.
